A (very) special PARK SOUNDS
Join us on Sunday 28 August for a very special PARK SOUNDS Fundraiser Event to help a young local musician who needs our support.
The music magic will be happening from 1pm - 4pm with another great line-up featuring young local musicians R & J Duo, Harriet Wensley, Staple, Marshall Hamburger Band and the awesome Ampersand. Each act is donating payment for their performance to assist a young local musician, Madison, and her family.
Madison, an amazing 12 year old bass player and singer, was recently involved in a serious car accident with her mum and little sister. Both Madison and her mum sustained serious injuries, and are facing a significant road to recovery. Students from Madison's music school (Hamburger Music Productions) have decided they are going to help, and are joining forces with The Imperial Hotel in getting on board to present what will be a very special Park Sounds afternoon.
So pack your picnic rug and chairs for this fabulous afternoon of FREE live music in Dick Caplick Park, right in the centre of town in Eumundi. 100% of monies raised (including artist fees) will be passed to the family to assist them with their long recovery.
We will be filming the day so that Madison can see and feel the well wishes and support of the community.
R&J is a songbird and piano-man duo formed in 2021 due to a shared love of music and an effortless rapport. Ruby Evve is 19, an accomplished and multi-talented vocalist of 14 years experience and a vocal/piano coach with Hamburger Productions. Jarrod Tutbury is 18, a pianist of 14 years experience who specialises in improvisation, assists the community with charity music events and leads the snazzy young band, Ampersand. After a year-long hiatus, R&J are returning to the Sunshine Coast music scene ready to shake things up.
Harriet Wensley is a 17-year-old Sunshine Coast based musician. She has been studying and performing music since 2012 and has developed her own signature style, adapting popular music classics from a wide variety of genres with unique variations, self-accompanied on guitar. Harriet loves the energy of making music with others and performs regularly at school with her Grade 12 all-girls band and with Hamburger Music Productions. Harriet’s evolving musical journey sees her focussing on exploring and experimenting with new techniques and styles as she develops her skills in composing and writing her own songs.
Staple is an Indi Pop band form the Sunshine Coast. Band members Brooke, Tatum, Harriette, Kayla and Milly are school mates and best friends. They began Staple in 2021 and won St Andrew’s Battle of the Band in October due to their blend of sweet harmonies and infectious energy. Staple recently got third place for the people’s choice award at the 2022 Noosa Busking Competition and a special judges award. Staple were a featured band at Noosa Come Together and finalists in Noosa “Stars” Alive. You will feel the energy from these girls.
Marshall Hamburger has a produced pop soul sound and his love for the arts and stage performance has merged to create his unique style. Marshall is currently a Year 12 student at The Music Industry College in Brisbane where he is honing his skills surrounded by up and coming artists from all over Queensland. Marshall starred in the lead role in MIC’s first musical “Be More Chill” last year and recently performed at The Triffid in Brisbane. Marshall is a storyteller with the ability to take an audience on the journey with him.
Ampersand is an entertaining, energetic and ever evolving line-up of some of the best young and upcoming talent in Noosa and surrounds. Performing music from a variety of genres, with a distinctive and unique fusion style, the members share a strong work ethic and love of creating music. They have so far performed at venues, events and locations such as Solbar, the Majestic Theatre Pomona, Peregian Beach Markets, Hastings Street, Park Sounds Eumundi, Noosa Come Together Festival, Noosa “Stars” Alive and The Peregian Beach Carols. Ampersand took out the 1st Place Best Band and People’s Choice Awards at the 2022 Noosa Busking Competition and are working on originals with the goal of a debut album/EP.
