Get yourself organised so you can be in The Bunker at The Imperial Hotel Eumundi on Friday 24 April when the fabulous BLUES ARCADIA take to the stage as part of their 'Two Wrongs Tour', supported by EZRA LEE.
BLUES ARCADIA
Dirty-soul act Blues Arcadia are hitting the Eastern highways and byways once again with the latest cut from their critically-acclaimed 'Carnival Of Fools' album (4.5 stars - The Australian; 5 stars - Courier Mail).
The Two Wrongs Tour features a video release for Two Wrongs (Don’t Make It Right) shot in the band’s backyard on a 38C day at Mini Mecca in Brisbane, a retro-custom car garage specialising in the restoration of vintage Mini Coopers. Sweating it out between car hoists surrounded by engine parts was a unique performance experience captured by local film-maker Geoff McLeod, who has documented the band since their formation four years ago.
Since then, Blues Arcadia have been two-time Australian Blues Music Award winners and Australian Roots Music Award nominees, and played festivals around the country including Woodford Folk Festival, Thredbo Blues, Blues on Broadbeach and Mornington Peninsula Blues Festival.
With Blues Blast Magazine (US) enthusing that “with them, the future of blues is secure”, Blues Arcadia draw from influences as rich and diverse as The Meters, Robben Ford, Ronnie Earl, P-Funk and Big Mama Thornton, creating a sound that is part jazz, blues and funk fortified with a dash of dark and dirty soul.
Their latest single Two Wrongs (Don’t Make It Right) is no exception: a funky-ass face-slapper of rolling snare hits and Rhodes keyboard stabs dancing around the final moments of a romantic relationship in terminal decline.
Blues Arcadia deliver an uninhibited old fashioned soul stomp revival and their raucous live shows are nothing short of electrifying. Don't miss this opportunity to see Blues Arcadia in action this April in Eumundi.
EZRA LEE
Ezra Lee is Australia's wildest piano player - with an original style that's steeped in rumbling boogie woogie, low down blues and untamed rockabilly.
The Ezra Lee Show has popped up at some incredible events both abroad and locally, including Bluesfest, Chromefest, Blues on Broadbeach, and left exhausted dancers and big smiles in its wake.
His career highlights have included supporting Bill Haley's Original Comets at the Screaming' Rockabilly Festival in Spain; opening for Jerry Lee Lewis in Las Vegas; playing the Sydney Opera house alongside Aussie luminaries James Blundell, Nick Barker, Dave Larkin and Doug Parkinson; and opening for rock n roll pioneer and the Queen of Rockabilly Wanda Jackson on her last Australian tour.
Ezra is also the boogie piano player in the original pub rock band The Heartbrokers alongside illustrious Aussie music veterans Van Walker, Jeff Lang, Cal Walker and Ashley Davies.
